Styling Diaries: Emma Kalfus

A creative concept by MISHA: Styling Diaries by Emma Kalfus, shot in Paris.

During Paris Fashion Week, MISHA partnered with stylist and Creative Consultant Emma Kalfus to capture a street-style moment shaped by the city’s rhythm and the intimacy of personal styling.

The shoot draws inspiration from the electric energy spilling onto the streets, where sidewalks become runways and every passerby a muse. It’s a celebration of the collective joy of dressing up, of turning heads and turning out with intention.

From structured outerwear to fluid drapery dresses, the series unfolds across iconic Parisian backdrops with Emma’s signature ease, her instinctive styling and infectious enthusiasm transforming the city into a living moodboard.

Tailored Layers and Fluid Forms

For Emma, style is a language of clarity. “Classic, minimal, confident,” she says, describing her aesthetic in three words. While her look has remained consistent over the years, she admits to refining it with a more polished edge in her 30s.

Her instinct gravitates toward separates, trousers and skirts paired with textured tops. “I love a barrel or pleat-front trouser with a textured top. I mix muted tones or monochrome, and occasionally layer in a subtle pop of colour.”

The 1990s remain her touchstone, particularly the era’s pared-back minimalism. She also cites Charlotte Rampling as a muse, admiring her ability to balance masculine tailoring with feminine ease.

“The MISHA bold-shoulder, cropped, leather jacket and black barrel trouser - they’re on high rotation. Easy to wear every day, but also transformative on set.”

After Dark, Before Noon

Emma’s creative lens is shaped by movement and discovery. “I get the most inspiration from travel, from culture, art, architecture, food, and street life.”

When styling, she translates abstract ideas like strength and sensuality into tangible choices through fabrication, cut, colour, and detail. “If I want to feel strong, I’ll choose gutsier fabrics in structured shapes. For sensuality, I’ll lean into softer, form-hugging silhouettes that shape the body.”

On the streets of Paris for MISHA, this philosophy came alive. “The campaign day was high energy. Our model’s confidence in the clothes drew people in - she felt like she belonged.”

Emma styles Mavi in the The Unity Jersey Dress and The Sapphire Sequin Dress with off-duty ease.

For Emma, styling is about more than aesthetics,it’s about emotion.

“If the model feels confident in what she’s wearing, it’s visible in the image.  It’s not about being ‘of the moment.’ It’s about charm and quality that draws you in and makes you want to hold onto it.”

Through her Styling Diaries, Emma distilled MISHA’s vision into a story of strength, sensuality, and enduring elegance. A reminder that true style transcends trends.
